Today marks the end of May and holds our hand into a new month. This month, we journey into the theme: Return to Voice — an invitation to come home to the voice you have quieted, to uncover the language of your becoming, and to learn to listen to the sound of your inner self.
Your voice may have been silenced across seasons of people-pleasing, personal pain or perfectionism. This month, we gather here to read, write, and reflect our way back to it.
Today, I want you to start preparing your reflection tools. This means that as we journey through each month’s theme, you will have a dedicated space and dedicated tools to accompany you. What room will you write and reflect in? Is it decluttered and freeing? Or do you need to take a walk outside to find a peaceful place to park yourself on reflective days. Get a journal, whether used or unused. You will need it to explore the prompts I am creating for you and to listen to your inner voice as it rises up then write your thoughts throughout the month. When moments of reflection, overwhelm, or boundless thought come up — grab your journal and write. I’ll share soul-notes and prompts to help you listen, loosen, and reclaim the sound of your own becoming. Don’t forget, for paid community members we will be gathering virtually June 11, at 7pm for a writing workshop on returning to voice.
Before June wanders in, I want you to begin reflecting. Sit with this and fill this in:
“I am ready to return to my voice because….”
“I will gain ……. by finding or returning to my voice”
I am expectantly looking forward to sharing thoughtful essays with a bit of therapy-backed guidance, prompts, meditations, and simply being in community with you this month.
With love, Q.
